A Librarian Reads Eclipse

eclipseEclipse by Stephenie Meyer

We all know the love triangle between Bella, Edward, and Jacob. Eclipse offers us more of the same tension that New Moon did.

However there is more of a plot here than the previous novel. People are going missing in Seattle and the Cullens fear that someone is creating a army of new vampires. Eventually Bella figures out that the army is coming after her, and it is led by her nemesis Victoria. Edward and Jacob will have to devise a plan of stopping the army while also protecting the girl they both love.

While not a fan of the Twilight novels, Eclipse is probably the best written one (I haven’t read Breaking Dawn yet). While I feel that the books dwell too much on the brooding between Bella, Edward and Jacob (the majority of each book is just brooding, and I feel could have been better edited) this one does have some interesting moments. The native american stories of the spirit warriors is a great scene. Edward and Bella’s conversation on marriage, losing her virginity, and becoming a vampire is a great ethical discussion on virtue and whether being old-fashioned (i.e. waiting for marriage) is still appropriate in today’s age.

Obviously, Eclipse is  recommended to Twilight fans, or those of romance. Appropriate for ages 12 and up.

new-moon-poster1The Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer

I love Twilight!!!!!!!!!!!!! if I could read it 700,000 a day I would. This book is good for kids 11 years old and up. There are a lot of kids this age who love this book. Even teachers are reading it so you know its really a popular book!!

The rest of the Twilight series is also good. Once you read the first TWILIGHT book you have to read NEW MOON and then ECLIPSE and lastly BREAKING DAWN. (Warning BREAKING DAWN should NOT be read by kids under 12 years old but its still a good book)

I hope you enjoy the TWILIGHT SAGA as much as I did!!! :)

3 Stars

After the other three books of the Twilight series, I think this one was a disappointment. As per Edward’s agreement, before Bella becomes a vampire, she has to get married. Bella and Edward get married, and then Edward makes her a vampire.

The romantic stuff is kind of embarrassing. I can’t say anymore other than the Volturri are involved and there is a climactic battle. If you’ve read the other books, then it’s worth reading just to finish the series, otherwise it isn’t worth it. It’s less of a reality book, and more of a mainstream fantasy book.

Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer
4 Stars

Eclipse is the third book in the Twilight series, continuing from where New Moon left off. Eclipse starts with Edward and Bella back together and Jacob not speaking to Bella. The tug- of-war between Edward and Jacob with Bella in the middle goes on.

Victoria comes back with a vengeance and hunts down Bella. The question is, “Who wins?” I think this book is worth four stars because it is engaging and well-written and sounds real – something hard to acheive in fantasy books. It makes you feel like this could really be happening.

Twilight by Stephenie Meyer

Twilight, the first book in the Twilight saga. Also one of the BEST books I have ever read. I read Twilight because of one of my friends [Danielle] at first I didn’t like it that much. But then, when Edward Cullen stepped into the picture, I feel in love with him.

Twilight is a book with action and romance. Readers will get addicted. They will thirst for more. Twilight is about two teens. Bella Swan. Edward Cullen. A girl, and a boy. Two complete Opposites.

I recommend this book to everyone who loves the Harry Potters, The Cliques, the Percy Jackson, or anyone who just loves adventure, or romance. I recommend seeing the movie AFTER you read the book, because it leaves out a ton of parts, and you wont really get what’s going on.
