Currently BPL Teens have two ways for young adults to express themselves via the written word: Book Reviews and the BPL Scribe.
2010 Scribe Anthology
Deadline: 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 27th, 2010
Beginning February 1st, 2010 we will accept submissions for the annual Scribe Anthology, a collection of short stories, essays and poetry by middle and high school students. The submission rules are as follows: Students in 6th through 12th grades can submit original short stories, essays and poems. You may not submit someone else's work under your name; that is plagiarism, and it is illegal.- All entries must be typed.
- You may submit up to five entries. Please type one entry on a page. Use paper clips on entries that are more than one page long; do not staple pages together.
- Each individual entry must have the following information PRINTED on the BACK of the first page of each entry:
- your name
- address
- zip code
- school
- grade
- Entries must be 1,000 words or less.
- No entries will be returned.
- Entries can be submitted at the Bettendorf Public Library, 2950 Learning Campus Dr, Bettendorf, 52722 or emailed to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . They must be received by 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 27th, 2010.
- Entries which do not follow these rules will not be eligible.
- This is a juried anthology; not all entries submitted will be published. We will notify you only if your entry has been accepted.
