Every month we add books to the Rapid Reads Cart located in the Administrative office on the 2nd Floor. For $2.50 you can purchase a newly released best seller that has just been removed from the Rapid Read shelves in the library! We usually have between 30 and 35 titles from which to choose! In addition, we have a selection of large print novels and those are only $2.00! If you are taking a trip and need some good books, are looking for a gift, or just would like to add a book to your collection you can help the Foundation by purchasing these great books from us!
Rapid Reads
January 6th, 2011Grant Awards
November 30th, 2010We are so lucky to have been chosen again to receive help from both the SCRA and the RDA.
The Scott County Regional Authority granted the library $17,360 to install projection systems in all five meeting rooms on the second floor of the library. In 2009 the library offered 825 programs; the community booked these rooms 950 times! Can you imagine how much these projection systems will be used? Thank you, SCRA!
The Riverboat Development Authority generously supported our request for $4,000 to purchase new motorized scooters and walkers with baskets to help our handicapped as well as our senior patrons. We are very excited to get these! Look for them in the lobby.

A great big THANK YOU to the SCRA who again, helped out the Foundation with another grant! We just learned that our request for funding for the new QUAD (Teen area) computer stations as well as the fabulous theater projection system was granted. Over $18,000 will be granted to the Foundation, bringing the total support from SCRA in the last year to over $40,000.00! We feel so fortunate to have such unwavering support from the Scott County Regional Authority.
