Place A Hold
Conduct a search for the material you are interested in. Click on “Place Hold” by the item you have selected.
Select the library where you wish to pick up your item from the drop down list.
Enter your library barcode number, all 14 digits with no spaces.
Enter your PIN. The default PIN is a repeat of the last four digits of the barcode number.
Click the “Place Hold” button.
You will then see a hold confirmation screen. If there is a problem associated with your library account, you may see a message telling you your hold cannot be placed. You will be notified by the Pickup Library when your item is available there.
If you are placing a hold on a Bettendorf item that is not checked out, please allow 24 hours for item to be retrieved and placed on the Holds Pickup shelf. For faster service, call the Information Desk at 344-4179.
If you are placing a number of holds, you may want to log into PrairieCat from the home screen of the catalog. Logging in before searching for you items will allow you to only log in once, instead of doing so for every hold.
